CHAT FROM VcToria
Ahhh April 😊 Settled into what I knew would be a busy month. Started off with heading out to get some groceries, dollar store for baskets, pet store for kitty litter and dry food and Italian Center for truffle oil.
The first two days business wise was great. And then to my great delight I had seven days in a row OFF!! Those are the day I work out, [as I do most mornings] and putter around the house doing what needs to be done. I read, watch TV and just generally enjoy the down time as I know time wasted is never given back 😊
Then as predicted back to the business going full blast. The 11th brought a lovely house party from one of my clients. Then of course my birthday [12] arrived. My son took me out for lunch and along with that he gave me a gift certificate for The Mayfield Dinner Theatre. A couple of dresses he had bought in Mexico and a container of vegan cupcakes 😊 My granddaughter had sent my gift on the day before and it was a Ninja air fryer. 😊 Then the day after, my grandson and his girlfriend brought me out for a mid day lunch and I chose Nosh downtown. Really superb food, with a lovely selection of Indian vegan food 😊 They gave me a gift certificate for Canadian Tire, some beautiful flowers and some purple slippers 😊 So a nice three days of gifts and meals. Now I am 73 years of age. Aging is an interesting journey by far LOL.
Then as I always say, if you choose to own material things some will need fixing at times. And the fan went on my fireplace, so I called the repair place, and they sent a guy out to do a nice repair on that plus I got it cleaned.
Meanwhile I had reads every single day [thank you Universe] and another house party with a company that hires me every couple of years to come and do their employees. Honestly, the month just got busier and busier business wise. Orders were filled, Zoom and phone reads came in plus of course in person. Again, I always thank the Universe as I support myself and mortgage is NOT!!! paid. It will not be paid till I am 91 years of age. Thus, I am thinking about should I downsize? Move to Thailand? Stay and trust as I always do that the Universe will send enough work? My oh my the thoughts that I am thinking in this area. Decisions will be made as I firm them up. However, Bella now is being thought about as I decide. She truly loves the backyard so right now I have decided to stay here for the summer. If I move to the town houses I had in mind, she cannot go outside. That was my reason for this choice.
Based upon that decision I decided to purchase a lovely patio set for my upper patio area. It will be delivered mid-May and has a love seat, two chairs and a coffee table. The bases are wicker and the cushions are thick 😊 Then I plan to set up outside so that comfort is the name of the game as I enjoy outdoors this summer. 😊
THEN!! To wrap up my month the Fort McMurray Spring Show arrived and off I went to drive up there leaving Bella at home with my buddy coming in daily to spend an hour with her. And discovering the drive from hell was about to unfold. Getting to my halfway mark which is Grasslands I always stop for gas and a bathroom break. Here, as I chatted to the guy who was filling his car on the pump opposite me, I was told the roads were hell!! He was not lying. All I will say is that the last 150 KMS was a sight that no one had ever seen in all the years they had either lived up there OR driven up there. Wind was 60-80 km. Snow was coming down, there was six feet of snow in some lanes at times. The wind was so cold that ice was forming all over the highway. As I drove, I kept saying to myself, “holy moly can it get any worse”? and it just did. I was down to 40 km for the last 50 kms. The only thing I can say is that I did not have a ton of traffic around me so I was able to maneuver into snow where I hoped my vehicle would get through. Those behind me were not that lucky. Accidents behind me [thank goodness] were happening at a rapid speed and around 7pm apparently an 18-wheeler was blown sideways and blocked the highway. The highway in both directions was shut by the RCMP and anyone who was now on this highway was stuck for the night. I kid you not. About 40 vendors were in this line of 500 vehicles. Two were in the ditch. As were many other cars. The stories were insane. The highway did not open again till Saturday at 3pm. So, from Thursday to Saturday many just sat. Friday late in the day the RCMP got the stranded motorists out one by one. Most of the 40 vendors who were stuck now arrived at about 8pm on Friday. If you look online on Facebook or I am sure, just use Google there are tons of pics and posts about the craziness.
How was the show? OK but not like previous years. To my utter horror they had accepted another psychic who, even though her contract said ‘one psychic’ there were two. I feel that management should have asked that one be removed but this was not so. I decided that I would remove myself from the upcoming shows based upon this, but after speaking to management we settled the issue 😊 I will still be coming up for the Fall and Xmas show 😊 However, my income was affected and that did not make me very happy.
Sunday night came and because I was missing Bella and apparently, she was missing me greatly, I hit the road intending to take on whatever weather conditions I would meet up with BUT!! 😊 the roads were awesome. A couple of places I had to slow to 80km for about 2-3 minutes but other than that I was free wheeling all the way home and I made damn good time 😊 How was Bella upon my arrival? Sitting at the door as she heard the garage door open and then would not purr. But she forgave me after her nightly walk in the yard and then stayed beside me for the entire night and all of the next day 😊
Then time to take my grandson and his girlfriend out for her birthday supper and she chose Earls. I met them there and we had drinks, food and the free birthday dessert that was given to Grace. I had purchased her gift before I left in the form of a GC for Azura, and some hemp foot cream from Body Shop when I had gone to pick out my patio set 😊 Yes, she seemed very pleased with her gifts.
And now today, [28th] I am having my mobile tire guy come over and change my winter tires to summer. Then I have a phone read booked. Tomorrow, I have taken off the day because Bella is going in for surgery on her teeth. I would not be able to focus upon clients while she is under. So, I will get my oil changed and groceries done and upload my newsletter while she is having her teeth cleaned and whatever else is causing her bad breath to be taken care of. I will update that next month. After that I am solidly book right through to May 8. Again, I say, “Thank You Universe”. Keep the work coming as I now have 2 ½ months here at home till my next show.
So, NETFLIX: last month I mentioned I had started watching Person of Interest and was on Season One of Five and had rated it 9/10. I am upping that to 10/10. If I could give a higher score I would. Incredible show. I am nearing the end of Season Four and I highly recommend this show. I always wonder when I watch these kinds of shows if the writer is from the future. Why? Watch the show and tell me that you cannot see what is happening now is mirroring this show that ironically started in 2017!!
GROCERIES: Just in case you are interested LOL!! Avocadoes, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, celery, green apples, vegan sliced meat, mangoes, raspberries, oranges, toilet paper, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, turnips, lemons, vegan creamers, onions, dried lima beans, dried yellow split peas, dried chick peas, cranberries, plant based butter, beyond meat chic’n tenders, carrots, mushrooms, frozen peas, sorbet, just egg, raw sugar, strawberries, oats, Himalayan sea salt, apricot jam and cucumbers. Total for the month was $424.11. I seem to be averaging $100 weekly.
BELLA: She needed kitty litter and dry food. That came to $107.08. She seems to be averaging $100 monthly and that is not too bad 😊
Oh yes, got my GST filed and paid so we are now up to date as I always am with the government. Taxes are paid, refund received and all is well till another year on federal and provincial. GST are paid quarterly so no thinking about that now till July 😊
Received acceptance on all the shows I applied for except one. Still waiting on one but not holding my breath!! However, super duper happy with the shows that I have done for years now and still being told ‘you are very welcome and yes, you are the only psychic’ 😊
That’s it folks. Do the daily gratitude in the form of meditation and I promise that the Universe hears you and rewards you. Try it you may like it 😊 Enjoy the warm weather that I do hope will finally take hold here in Alberta at least.
Eat well, the body likes that, work out the joints, the body also likes that and fill the mind with joyful thoughts. Best of all make decisions in the ‘now’’ in the moment of time’ as life should be lived with actions that create happy memories. If you make the ‘now’ joyful and positive, then all your memories will be exactly that. Joyful and positive 😊

CHOICES
Why did I choose this subject this month? I adopted a 13-year-old cat and posted about her on Face Book. Never did I imagine how many people would comment 😊
BUT!! Of course, the subject always changes when you reply to people. One of my comments was to a person about going into a retirement home where pets are NOT allowed. They of course were going to give up their pet. I commented in some sort of way that we all have a choice to choose where we go. AND!! Of course, a ‘Karen’ answered with “VcToria you must have had a very comfy life with security. Have some empathy for others she went on and on etc.” I forget the exact wording, but at first, I posted back “OMG maybe you should read my book LOL” and maybe you should get to know me before you say such hysterically humorous things”.
BUT!! Then I decided to simply delete my comment along with hers and block her. Why? It was my choice. And that was hers to read the comments on MY PAGE and give her opinion!! Her opinion of me LOL because of a few words I posted that I thoroughly believe in.
Everyone has choices. However most use the emotion ‘fear’ to choose not to take choices. But those who do step up and face the ‘fear’ ALWAYS say later, “it was the best decision I could have made”.
In my life I have had many choices to make. Some easy and some difficult. One of my most difficult choices was packing up a life in Montreal, Quebec and renting a van, putting my 3 cats inside and driving across Canda to Edmonton to rebuild a completely different life. I could have stayed where I was. BUT life told me to make a choice. I faced the ‘fear’ or should I say the ‘unknown’ and today I too say, “it was the best decision I ever made”.
Had I not made that ‘choice’ I would never know life as I have it now.
And just like the “Karen” who posted on my FB wall that I have no empathy I find it hard to feel that emotion for others who refuse to make choices and sit and complain that they cannot. Yes, you can. You just choose not to.
I speak about relationships first. I deal with many who are just not happy. But they believe that either they cannot support themselves, cannot rebuild a life or many other ‘I cannots’ that they say. So, some revert to affairs, some to a dull existence with the day-to-day routine just getting them depressed. Each handle their ‘cannots’ differently and I get to hear everything about them.
I also get to hear about the successes when the ‘fear’ evaporated, and the ‘choice’ made. Sometimes an early death of a partner creates the ‘now I have to choose’ and sometimes it is the person who has had enough. But it is all a CHOICE.
Now for the younger folks you have more choices in life than folks who are now considered seniors. Remember this. You have a choice to stay single till the right person comes along. You have a choice to take birth control until you feel ready to bring in a child. Or you may not want children. Make it a ‘choice’. You have a choice to start saving for your senior years. I suggest you start saving now. You will need it later. Take it from a senior 😊
Now I just ‘chose’ to take on a senior cat. Bella. I spoke about her above. This definitely shows me that I need to stay in my home for longer. Why? She LOVES the yard and in her younger years wherever she lived she was an outdoor cat. She now sits on the porch in a lounge chair I gave her, sits under the tree and in general walks around the entire yard pleased as punch. How could I move to a place where she would not be happy?
That was my choice and so we will stay here for a wee while longer.
NOW!! Yes, I am a senior and to my physical departure I will have ‘choices’ and as long as I think about what they will incur in my life I will keep making them. I will NEVER ‘choose’ not to explore what I need to know or feel, so that my next ‘choice’ is correct.
When you make choices in life you undertake the consequences. Never say you cannot choose. That is not only ridiculous it is impossible unless you believe it and then you live only with ‘fear’. A sad way to live. Take it from me choices are GREAT.

VcToria Comments: Yes, I post a lot about robots and AI. However, everyone finds this cute. As I mentioned in Chat I was blown away by Person Of Interest [ on Netflix] and if you do not think that it shows the future you are blind. However, that series was about AI. Now once the robotic area uses its brains, coded by AI, jobs will be lost, people will become violent as that is how humans react to fear and life as you know it in about 20-30 years will be hell on this planet. BUT!! I believe that another planet will be built OR someone will figure out the DNA of the earth structure and enlarge the planet. I really see that coming. I also see human destruction. Anyone who watches the news would have seen the race with humans and robots put on in China. The robots won. Now that will be the incentive behind law enforcement. Not only will the robot dogs exist but robots will arrest whoever they feel is a criminal. How? No one can outrun AI or robots. NOTE: This is in the USA that I write about below.
Four-legged robot dog, powered by AI have been patrolling the streets, apartments, parking lots and construction sites in Atlanta as a move to up security. However, the addition of this automated security has raised concerns about the increasing use of private technology by law enforcement agencies.
A video of one such surveillance robot dog walking in Atlanta has gone viral on social media, leaving onlookers in awe as they drive past it. VIDEO>Robotic Dog Security
When someone honks, the robot stops immediately and looks at the person recording it, producing noise that resembles a dog. The robot dog then waves, something that the car’s occupants find adorable.
The caption suggests that the robot dog has been developed by Undaunted, a company that offers such autonomous security to various industries. The robot dog follows a predetermined route for surveillance, judging its path through cameras.
Remote operators can view the 360° footage being streamed by the robot dog. The company offers this as a cheaper and more efficient option than on-site guards. The caption reads:
“Four-legged surveillance robots are now patrolling Atlanta apartments, parking lots, and construction sites, equipped with cameras, lights, sirens, and speakers. Companies like Undaunted deploy them to follow pre-set routes and stream 360° video to remote operators 24/7, offering a cheaper, nonstop alternative to on-site human guards amid rising theft and break-ins.
“When something looks suspicious, operators can intervene in real time or alert police. Critics warn this tech normalizes constant surveillance and raises concerns about bias, especially as private deployments increasingly expand into law enforcement use across Georgia.”
Another report by Atlanta Today states that robot security dogs, powered by AI, have been deployed in the city to assist the police in areas known for high crime rates. The autonomous canine units, built by local technology company Cobalt Robotics, are equipped with high-definition cameras, advanced object recognition software, and thermal imaging sensors to help the police.
The introduction of robot police dogs is reportedly to deal with the increasing crime rates in some urban areas. However, there is a debate on the use of automation technology in policing the streets and how it affects civil liberties.
Samantha Nguyen of the ACLU of Georgia said in a statement:
“Unleashing autonomous machines with the power to surveil and command citizens is a dangerous path toward a dystopian future. We must resist the temptation of tech-driven ‘security’ at the expense of civil liberties.”
Atlanta Police Department Chief Mark Callahan said:
“These robot dogs will help us keep our streets safe and deter criminal activity in a more efficient, cost-effective way.”
City officials confirmed that the police robot dogs, named Hound Units, will be on the job 24×7. Plans are being drawn to expand the program.

Simple, healthy and filling. Take any vegetables you like, carrots, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts, etc. and boil or steam them. I use a pressure cooker pot and cook my dried chickpeas.
