WELL!! Business wise I have to say, whoever did not come in January and February came in March. Literally I had to NOT book if I needed a day off. Not complaining at all I promise. But it did create the time frame of the 31 days of March to fly by.
​
The second day of March my son took me for supper. He was off to Mexico so off we went to eat. Funnily enough, Watari, where we go every month, was truly below par on its food. I do not know if they changed cooks, but for what it was worth I was very disappointed. I will not be going there again I feel. It is a long drive downtown to be disappointed. I wonder if anyone else experienced this OR if my taste buds have changed LOL.
​
Along with a ton of in-person reads I had three Zooms and the webstore did OK. So financially we smiled 😊
​
However, as I mention every month and will continue to do so till the end of the 2026 it is my Harvest year in Numerology. You reap what you sowed, and as I mentioned last month looking back it was my business I focused upon, but I also let go of a ton of shows. And once again we are dropping another show. This one I am sad to drop but holy cow you cannot more than double the cost of a space and then expect vendors to stay. I never thought I would let go of this show. I had booked my hotel, hired a person to help me put up my tent and then once March arrived, I headed to the website to fill out the form and looked in HORROR at the cost and thought ‘oh it must be an error’ and called. Nope, not an error but if I bought a chamber membership my cost would drop. Quoted as $105 for the membership. Billing came and it was $220!!! Called back??????? Why? Oh, you are incorporated as a company. Yes, only a fool would not do that. Unless you own nothing of course. Incorporation protects you from your personal assets while with a sole proprietorship you are personally responsible for any debts or legal issues from your business. Own a house? Get sued? You lose your case? Your house can be taken, or you can be forced to sell etc. etc. A smart person looks at this before working/owning a business. BUT!! I digress and no amount of talking and explaining that I am a one-person business and only incorporated to protect myself would get them to give me a break. So, with the membership, tent space, hotel and paying someone to help set up was not truly worth it to me. I am sure a lot of their vendors will feel the same way once they get their bills!! An outside event depends on weather, and it will be interesting to see how that goes on these dates. I am often guided nicely so money is not wasted. It may rain that entire weekend. We shall see. But sadly, after many years of enjoying this show I am out. So, June looks like I will be home. I shall see as I am looking at other venues.
​
Next, we got all my personal taxes done and holy moly for the VERY first time in twenty years I got a refund!! Thank you Universe. Business was filed and paid even before I left for Thailand 😊 Then I drove out to Tofield [a 45-minute drive] with Bella. [Bella is my new long-time foster, and she is 13 years old] Why did I take Bella? I wanted to see how she handled long distance driving as I am still deciding if I will fly or drive to British Columbia in September. If I drive, I’ll stop in Valemont for the night, then onto Surrey and come back along the other highway and stop in Golden for the night. BUT!! Still unsure, however I will announce it in the September Newsletter so if you wish to book a read in Valemont or Golden do read Septembers News 😊 And still onto Bella!

Gosh there was so much to do this month. Bella was my first important ‘lets get her all fixed up’. She came to live with me two months ago. And anyone who knows me, knows that the cat will have preference over most of what I choose to do 😊 She has VERY bad breath so I booked an appointment with the so called dental surgeon who took care of China when she was alive. This vet when I went to her a few years ago was wonderful. This time not so much. First, they changed my appointment. Then I had to go downtown in rush hour traffic. Staff there are very confused, at least the secretary one was. I had called twice to make sure her records were transferred there. On the second call I was assured “do not worry at all about it, they will be here when you arrive’. They were NOT!!! Now the vet looks at her teeth then listens to her heart. Tells me she has a heart murmur. Really? At her February check up with my foster person vet I was told her heart was strong. Then I was charged way more than what I was told. Next day I was texted by the vet secretary to tell me that they wanted a $400 deposit for her appointment for the ultrasound that they said needed to be done BEFORE they would do the dental work. [cost $900 just for the ultrasound]
​
Naturally I took her to my vet of 30 years and she said, “absolutely she does NOT have a heart murmur” Now ironically my vet of 30 years had changed places and guess where she went to? To my foster persons vet LOL. I got blood taken to see if Bella was healthy enough to go under to have her teeth fixed so her breath would not be smelling like rotten eggs and she is great. So, on April 29 at my vet’s location, she will have her teeth done. And yes, I cancelled the appointment at the HIGH-END bad service place.
​
Next it was my grandson’s monthly dinner and if you read far enough last month under ‘chat’ then you will know I am also no longer pleased with Cactus. Slowly but surely, they removed all the GOOD vegan offerings. We went to Earls where they have a lovely plant-based menu.
​
Then to my great delight two of my friends said ‘yes’ to me asking them if they would be interested in attending John Edwards who was coming live to Edmonton. [John Edwards is a medium in case you do not know who he is] One of my friends picked me up at 2pm then we drove over to the other friend and off we went to Leduc and had a LOVELY chatty long lunch. It is VERY rare that I get picked up and driven around. Normally I am the driver or meeting folks at places. Only my son picks me up usually. After our long lunch we headed to the event and stood in line close to the start and got good seats. A perfect evening. What did I think of Jonh Edwards? He spent a little too long with each person and since the room had at least 200 people not many were read. My friend was picked to ask a question, and she asked what I wanted. I wanted to know ‘what happens if someone does not wish to leave the earth plane, are they the ghosts?’. I guess we should have said ‘spirits or energy’ as John said there was no such thing as ghosts and everyone leaves and heads to the other side. I do not believe that as I have had quite a few strange interactions with energies. But each to their own 😊
​
Then I had been thinking about saving some money this year as shows are on their way out. Each year the income drops a wee bit. I have a 30% leeway that I can allow on all my shows. But once it hits that I drop the show OR if smaller shows double book another psychic when they have told me they will not do that I immediately drop that show. So I have basically gone from doing 30 shows a year down to 8 or 9 depending on one of the shows that sometimes drops the Xmas show. Thus, my hairdresser who charges close to $200 for a cut and wash is dropped. Funnily enough my old hairdresser who charges $55 for a wash and cut called for a reading!! She never has before so naturally I asked if I could come back to her and of course, she said ‘yes’. Got myself a wash and cut. Lovely job just as good as the $200 cut and wash.
​
Housework? Well, my arm is perfect now. The pain was lifted with the cortisone shot and then I went back to working out EVERY day except for 3 days this month. Arm is PERFECT and there was no excuse to not get housework done. Now I am not a huge fan of cleaning at all, but I started with the carpets. I was going to get them professionally cleaned but chose to put that money towards Thailand. Got the front room done and the upper hallway plus part of my bedroom so far. 😊 Got the bathroom that connects to my bedroom sparkling clean and of course the daily stuff like laundry, dishes etc. Made a GREAT chocolate cake [ recipe below] and enjoyed what spare time I had with Netflix and my TV shows.
​
NETFLIX: I had watched Season One and Two of The Lincoln Lawyer, but the seasons take so long to come out you tend to forget what happened, at least I do LOL. So, I rewatched Season One and Two and then Three. By the end I see that another season will be coming. Gave this show 9/10. Then to my great delight Person of Interest caught my eye. Looking at it there are five seasons with a lot of episodes per season. Love the show and am still on Season One episode 15 as my month has been SUPER DUPER busy with work, etc. etc. as I mentioned above. So far, I rate this show 9/10.
​
Then my main blind in the front room ceased to work so I called my fix it blind guy who came over and saw that the motor had burnt out. Luckily, he has older parts and exchanged out the dead motor and got it all running. Tried to hire a cleaning lady but she could not find my house LOL!! I kid you not. These younger people do not read instructions. I clearly state my two roads between me and that the highway is my back yard. Do they pay attention? NO!! After 20 minutes on the phone where she was unable to tell me where she was, I told her to go home as it was not working out. That is why the bathroom is sparkling. I had emptied out all the cupboards, counters etc. and left it bare for her to clean. But I landed up doing it.
​
What else? Oh yes groceries. You may note I have changed my eating habits a wee bit. I have dropped all packaged vegan food for at least six months. Why? As I mentioned last month my doctor LOL told me my cholesterol is at the mark where she would advise medication!! Truly I am not a person who will do that. If I had cancer, I would not do chemo. But I do not have cancer and never will. However, unless my blood work was muddled up with another persons [which can happen] she said my HDL was low and cholesterol high. So back to another food change. And yes, NONE of my food has cholesterol in it at all. However, I do drink a lot of coconut milk and cream so that has been dropped mostly. And in September I will do the blood work again and see what results she comes back with. I think I have always said “‘I believe that when my contract of life lessons has been completed it may be that I opted for a departure”. I am NOT a person who fears change in any way 😊
​
SO!! Groceries: mandarins, broccoli crowns, Brussel sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, celery, dried chick peas, cremini mushrooms, baby spinach, green apples, fennel, red pears, dried red lentils, tomatoes, silk creamer soy, firm tofu, zucchini, red tea, raspberries frozen, red arugula, frozen strawberries, lemons, hummus, compostable garbage bags, quick oats, white garbage bags, crispbread, thin crackers and rosemary crackers. Monthly cost: $227.63. A nice cheap month.
​
Then there was Bella. Her vet bills were paid by the foster lady 😊 I bought her a catnip toy that she does NOT play with at $6.14. Then she needed her dry food that is very healthy [Farmina cat quinoa digestion lamb] at $51.44 for a 1.5 k bag. And lastly, I needed kitty litter and of course she must have the best, so I bought a small bag at $18.89 of Worlds Best Kitty Litter [8lb] Low tracking and low dust 😊 her monthly food etc. bills were $76.52.

And that about wraps up chat. Until next month do what I do daily. Rise and give gratitude for waking. Smile and greet the day with glee. Do a glass of green juice and then one cup of coffee. Check your business and whatever else you need to do. Then get to your gym and work out. Stretch or use a massage chair and MOST importantly meditate. That sets each day so that every morning you greet the day with glee 😊 Trust me it works. Another tip? Use your Personal Year [ your season] to set the correct actions in life. VcToria Comments: The name of the city is Palitana. Located in Gujarat, India. One day, when people enlighten themselves to the fact that animals feel emotions just as we do, they will hopefully stop and note you can be much healthier by not eating terrified, murdered flesh. You cannot claim to be spiritual in any aspect at all if you believe in taking a life of any species. ALL are non man made, created by an energy that one day we will meet. I hope that there is a planet like this for my next life.

Pilgrims climb thousands of stone steps daily, often barefoot, observing strict vows of non-violence. In Jain philosophy, ahimsa—absolute non-harm to living beings—is not symbolic. It governs food, clothing, professions and daily conduct. Against this backdrop, butcher shops and meat markets within city limits had long been viewed as deeply offensive.
​
The Protests That Changed Everything
The tipping point came in 2014, after years of sustained agitation by Jain monks and community leaders. Nearly 200 monks undertook a hunger strike, demanding the closure of around 250 butcher shops operating in Palitana. Their argument was not new—but the scale and moral pressure were unprecedented.
​
The monks framed the issue not as a lifestyle choice but as the protection of a sacred ecosystem. In Jain belief, violence committed near holy spaces carries heavier karmic consequences. The presence of meat markets near Shatrunjaya was, for them, incompatible with the town’s spiritual identity.
​
Under mounting pressure and citing public sentiment, the Gujarat government intervened.
​
What The Ban Actually Means
​The final order prohibited the sale and consumption of meat and eggs within Palitana’s municipal limits. Animal slaughter was also banned entirely. Shops selling non-vegetarian food were shut down, and violations attracted penalties under municipal and state regulations.
​
Importantly, the ban applied to city limits—not surrounding rural areas—making Palitana a unique case of urban food regulation driven by religious ethics. While vegetarianism is common across many Indian temple towns, Palitana became the first city to codify it into law.
​
A Victory For Jainism, A Test For Secularism
For the Jain community, the decision was historic. Many leaders described it as a rare moment when state policy aligned fully with religious values of non-violence. It also reinforced Palitana’s identity as a sacred town rather than a commercial hub.
Critics, however, raised uncomfortable questions. Does banning food infringe on personal liberty? What happens to communities whose livelihoods depended on meat trade? Can religious sentiment justify civic restrictions in a secular democracy?
Civil rights advocates pointed out that food choices are deeply personal and that tourism towns, especially, thrive on diversity. Others countered that Palitana’s primary visitors are Jain pilgrims who already follow strict vegetarian diets, making the ban more symbolic than disruptive.

The Economic Shift No One Expected
Interestingly, Palitana did not collapse economically after the ban. Instead, it pivoted.
Vegetarian restaurants multiplied, offering everything from traditional Jain thalis to modern plant-based menus designed for pilgrims from Mumbai, Jaipur and abroad. Many eateries advertise “satvik” cooking—no onion, no garlic, no root vegetables—adhering to the strictest Jain norms.
​
Guesthouses and dharamshalas upgraded kitchens, and food entrepreneurs began experimenting with protein-rich vegetarian alternatives. The city’s culinary scene became niche but intentional.
​
Trivia worth noting: Palitana’s temple complex reportedly generates significant daily footfall, with tens of thousands of pilgrims during peak seasons—most of whom actively seek vegetarian food, not tolerate it.
​
Tourism: Loss Or Reinvention?
​The biggest fear surrounding the ban was tourism loss. Would non-Jain travellers avoid Palitana?
The answer has been mixed. While the city may no longer attract travellers looking for food variety, it has doubled down on spiritual tourism. Palitana does not sell itself as a leisure destination; it sells sanctity, discipline and devotion. In that sense, the ban sharpened its brand rather than diluted it.

For visitors, the city now offers clarity. What you eat here is part of where you are.

A City That Sparked A Global Conversation
Palitana’s decision continues to be cited in debates about plant-based cities, ethical eating and religious influence on public policy. In an era where sustainability and climate-friendly diets dominate global conversations, this small Gujarati town often surfaces as an unexpected case study—though its motivations were spiritual long before they were environmental.

I always wonder why today’s youth and some older people choose not to watch the news. Especially since our government here in Canada does not allow news inserts anymore for Facebook, Instagram etc. And nobody stands up to this or makes a fuss. Thus, why are you not looking at what happens in this CRAZY world?
​
Are we going to war? Let us talk about our Prime Minister who so many voted in. What exactly has he done? Except travel the world and make announcements that have yet to come to fruition. And with his Uneducated way of speaking. Here we another Trudeau who, if asked a question off the cuff goes into fits of er, er, er, . When did this ‘er. Become a word? When you speak publicly you should be able to handle words. “ER” is someone who is either lying or unsure. I note that when Carney speaks without his ‘er’ “er” “er” “er” he is either reading the words or has repeated them so many times to be convincing. He is a GREAT con artist.

And why is so much money going towards the army, and anything else we will need for war? Looking North to cover the Arctic. Why?
​
And as of April 13th, 2026, when we have three by-elections, two in Ontario and one in Quebec will most likely bring the Liberals into a majority. So sad as now everything will go sideways with all talk and no action EXCEPT towards war.
​
Why he was voted in is still a mystery to me. Oh yes, you all fell for his ‘I will handle Trump and his tariffs” Can anyone see the bullshit now? So why are you believing all that comes out of his mouth now? NOTHING has taken place except his world travel on our tax paying dime and words that so many have fallen for.
​
Taxes are high, food is off the charts higher and where is the promise that it would go down?? Oh yes, more bullshit. Gas? Ok not his fault. Oil is set price wise by OPEC and when anything is short in supply the price goes up. Oil goes up so does gas.
HOWEVER!! If we had pipelines going through from Alberta, then a lot would be shared with the USA and the rest of Canada allowing a better supply thus keeping prices lower. BUT!! No, the pipelines were once again blocked by this government who is slowly ruining Canada.
​
We are moving into a world that slowly is turning to artificial intelligence, robots and CONTROL. And as things always happen slowly so it is not noticed you must look back at actions that have taken place to see the MASSIVE control that is slowly happening.
​
If you cannot see it then start watching the news. I hear people say all the time when I ask them why they do not keep up with current worldwide changes “I cannot watch negative stuff” REALYY?? So, you just go along with all the negativity and allow the future generation to have to live the life that is slowly being brought into utter control? Thanks.
​
But!! I also am sad about the generation now who just hang their heads and look at their phones. Even in groups they rarely talk they sit and each and everyone of them looks at their phones. Why? Most have round shoulders posture wise from this.
​
If people stay voting the way you have been hypnotized into thinking, then the babies being born now will live in a communist country just like China. Yet, the young people of China, who have never lived in a free world are OK with this. So maybe your young folks will enjoy control? Who knows but my advice?
​
Get off the phones, talk to each, look at what is happening around you, start creating change by standing up for things and stop voting Liberal. Look for ACTIONS not just smooth-talking words. That is called conning. OR live in a world of control where you will own nothing.
VcToria's Vegan Kitchen
VEGAN CHOCOLATE CAKE
​I know I have posted this before, but it is so simple to make plus I have new clients added to my Newsletter all the time.
​
This needs to be baked in an 8” square pan. It is cheap, tasty and quick to make. BUT!! Remember there is no nutrition in cake, but it pleases many.: Make it occasionally as a treat 😊
​
Ingredients
1 ½ cups of all purpose flour
4 tablespoons of cocoa powder
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda [ VIP] ½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup water
Turn oven on to 350 degrees while you bake.
Place ingredients on the tables and nix the first 5 ingredients in a bowl. [flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda and salt.]
Make 3 depression in the mixture. 2 small and one large.
Pour the vinegar in one small depression. Pour the vanilla extract in the second depression and lastly the vegetable oil into the larger depression.
Now pour the cup of water all over and mix well.
Make sure the 8” square pan is well greased and pour the mixture into it.
Bake for 35 minutes. Let it cool. You can put icing on the cake or not. It is also good with jam on each slice.
