AND ONTO CHAT STARTING WITH "IN MEMORY OF CHINA" October 7th 2004 to June 23rd 2025.
​
​It was July 7th 2005 and I was working doing readings on an evening shift in downtown Edmonton. The brakes on my van had gone and I had dropped it earlier at Canadian Tire. A friend of mine picked me at 11pm from the café and we drove down to Canadian Tire to pick up my van that I had asked to be placed in the parking lot. As we got there this little tiny flash of fur shot across the pavement. “That’s a cat” I said to my buddy. Then the little bundle of fur ran back again and shot to the back of Canadian Tire. Now in July back then CT had a fence put up and all the summer stock [tables etc.] was in that area. This little bundle of fur shot under the fence and hid.
​
I knelt down and called. She did not come. My buddy and I walked away with intention of me getting my van and her going home. A tiny meow stopped us. There she was peeking out calling me. I turned and went back. She ran again but this time did not hide. Just stay behind the fence. By this time, it was nearing midnight. I made a joke to my friend that lets hope the cops do not come cruising around they will think we are robbing the place LOL.
​
She would not come out so I said to my buddy, I have dry food in my van let me go get some. I retrieved the dry food and headed back and lo and behold she had come out and was sitting under a tree waiting for me. I fed her, picked her up with the knowledge that she was a Siamese cat 😊 I have only ever owned Siamese except for one. She started purring. My friend said to her ‘just know you now have a really great home’ and off she went.
​
We drove home and she sat on my lap with her paws on the window happily looking out. I named her China as we drove. Once we got to my acreage that I had purchased in 2003 I put her in a separate room as I had 3 others. In the morning, I drove to my office and brought her with me.
​
Back then you could still place free ads under Lost and Found so I placed an ad with the Sun and daily Edmonton paper. I went back to CT and placed FOUND posters on all the mail boxes and then stopped at a vet to see if she had any chip or identification. She had none, and I was informed that she was probably between 8-10 months old. But the vet said “we’ll take her, she would be adopted out with no issue” and I smiled and said “no, that is Ok as I have already named her and if no one claims her she will have a home with me”. I gave her the birthday October 7th 2004 based upon the vets age analysis.
I had a few calls from the ad that asked if I wanted her adopted but the owners never called. On the 3rd day I had no clients in town and no shift at the café. I let her outside and she walked around the home and back inside and smiled and settled down to sleep.
​
What a personality she had. First it annoyed her that she was not an only cat. Which is strange because normally a cat will start to copy any others in the home. Not her, she ignored them totally unless they came to her and then she just swatted their face. Not angrily and never hissed or fought just said “I do not need you and one day I will be the only cat”. I swear she said that.
​
The day I truly knew she was sent to me was the day I saved her again. I had placed crystals in the four corners of my acreage and blessed the land when I moved in. I asked the Universe to protect my cats. This day I had driven into the small town to get something and timed it with driving into the city for my reading shift. BUT!!! As I drove past the dirt road turn off that led to my acreage, I had the feeling to go home. Why? I have no clue but I did. There, as I drove down my long driveway, at the base under the tree sat China. And behind her about six feet away was a coyote silently creeping up to her. She was sitting with her back to him. I jumped out grabbed her and yelled at the coyote who slunk away up my driveway turning his head back every so often as if to say ‘ that was my meal’. In all the years following I never saw another coyote on my land yet all my neighbors did.
​
In 2014 we moved to the city. I actually chose this house for my cats. Silly me bought it because there was a field behind it. Thinking they would like to play there and not realizing the city has just as many coyotes in these fields. Once settled in China hid. Now here was my EXTREMELY independent cat scared out of her mind and would not venture anywhere in the house let alone outside. Now Venus my shy, soft spoken Siamese cat took pity on her and one day I watched Venus lead her outside and show her the garden. I kid you not. From that point on I think China knew were all together and she could relax.
​
THEN!!! She discovered that if she jumped onto the fence she could walk for miles. Funnily enough she NEVER once jumped into that field. My neighbor commented on it once. He said it was amazing how she only walked the top of the fence. And boy did she walk. Sometimes for hours. My grey hair is from her as I waited up almost every night till I heard her jump onto the tree and come in. I had built a cat cage type thing on the side of the house and the other 3 cats were quite content to laze around in it. They never left my yard. But every day China would scratch on the patio door window to go out. She caught over 500 mice at the neighbors house and proudly brought them home. Then ate them. She sat for hours waiting for mice to come under the fence. She LOVED the outdoors. And she always came home. I feared for every time she left but there was no keeping her home. So, I did not.
​
Princess died and I showed them her body. China grinned as if to say ‘only two more to go’. After Venus had been so nice to her, she went back to her slapping her face. I kid you not. Never allowed any of them to curl up to her and sleep. Solomon died and I showed Venus and her the body. Venus understood but I swear China again grinned and said ‘YES only one more”. Off she would go on her daily adventures. One day Venus died and I showed China who I swear did a happy dance.
​
And for the last six years she had been the only cat. She still jumped onto the fence and went for walks but now only for a short time. She spent most of it with me OR checking in with me and then going back out. At eighteen years of age, that spring, she could not jump the fence. I felt relief, but also I felt sorry for her as she tried to lift her body up the tree and failed. She settled into just being in the garden and LOVED sitting with me. She travelled everywhere with me and LOVED driving in the van. She loved the hotel rooms although I did not as we had to stay on lower floors in pet rooms. I always stay on the top floors as I hate footsteps above me. But I loved her so much that I accepted the inconvenience.
​
She got older and slower and fell into a sleeping routine. If I was not there when she awoke, she screamed and howled till I came and told her I was in the house. Many people who have heard her yelling cannot believe how demanding she was. 😊 I loved her demanding screams. I would take my 6–8-kilometre walks during her naps. I would come back and say to her while she was still sleeping “there you never knew I was gone”. And smile at her.
​
Lately she slept longer and rarely stayed long in the garden. But she loved to curl up on my lap at around 5pm as we would settle down to watch TV. If I had clients, it was so funny as she would sit at the bottom of the stairs asking, why are we not settling onto the couch. Then walk away in disgust till I went and got her after my client. She was so funny and communicated her displeasure well 😊
​
Her first seizure was sudden. Yes, I knew she seemed a little disorientated at times but I was always there for her. She was safe at the hotels when I worked. It was Saturday night June 21st at around 9.15pm. She was still sleeping in the office chair so I let her be. All of a sudden, I heard this LOUD banging. It sound like someone was trying to break in via the garage door. I grabbed my phone and ran to the upper room. No, it was above and I knew right away it was China. I the heard her scream, a scream I had never heard before and there she was. Writhing on the floor. On her back. I immediately picked her up and the seizure slowed and stopped. I have never seen a seizure before whether it be an animal or a person. I thought she was dying. I held as she panted in short tiny breathes. I was VERY upset. I called the emergency vet and headed to the one north of me. They took me right away and lo and behold her vitals were all back to normal. They wanted to take her in the back of the rooms and insert a catheter and then have me wait for four hours as it was very busy that night. I would not allow her to be taken. Based upon the fact she was now back to normal I decided to just take her home and see my vet on Monday.
​
Saturday night was fine. She slept, did her usual up and drinking water and litter box and then would come back to bed. Sunday, we sat in the office, her on her chair and me working on the computer. I had a 4pm client and was trying to decide if I should take my walk. Something was telling me not to. China slept beside me all this time. At 1pm I was going to go for the walk that was still on my mind but something again would not let me. At 2pm she made a growl, her mouth started drooling and she convulsed. By now I had read up on cat seizures and it said ‘REMAIN CALM’ the cat is scared enough. So, I did. I picked her up after the intense vicious part and she settled. Then I held her close while she did 45 minutes of little pants. I told her it was OK if she passed but she never did. Her eyes went blind for about 10 minutes and slowly the body came back to normal. I then called my client and canceled and rebooked her for 2 days later.
​
Now I knew China’s time would be coming to an end. I put everything else aside and made her comfortable on the bed. I brought my book upstairs and crawled in beside her. At 6pm she took another seizure. I had to change the bed sheets as each seizure you lose the function of the bladder. After each seizure she was starving so I kept her bowl full and on the bed. She would eat almost the entire bowl each time. At midnight she took another seizure and again I held her close and talked to her while she panted in little breathes for 45 minutes to an hour. At 4am I must have been dozing as her body slammed up against me and I instantly woke. Held her and loved her. Monday morning came and I called my vet. GREAT!! She was on vacation. I asked if there was another vet who would euthanize her and take her out of this pain. I was given an 10am appointment.
​
BUT!! Once off the phone I knew I wanted her to have a home euthanasian. I called one place who texted me back strangely after only a voice mail answered and said she was busy all day. I quickly asked if she has any referrals and she was nice enough to name three. The first two did not answer their phones and I guess the Universe heard because Furever Friends answered 😊 She was lovely to talk to and informed me they could be there by 1.30pm as they had a senior rabbit to take care of in Westlock and then to me. I cancelled my 10am appointment and settled back to just cuddle and talk to China. At 11am she growled, drooled and had her last seizure. I held her throughout and at 1.30 pm the nicest people arrived. They did such a nice job of first sedating her with valium and then the process. It was peaceful and although I cried, I knew it was best. Then Brent from Faithful Friends [yes weird I had two different companies with similar names] came and picked up her body to be cremated. I had used him for Solomon and Venus who now sit in their urns and when China comes back, she will sit there to. Once I pass, my instructions are to have my ashes and theirs mixed and a place yet to be chosen scattered together.
​
My last cats I had been selfish enough to try to hold onto them. Tests, medication and still Venus and Solomon passed under horrific circumstances both who had to be rushed to emergency where they took Solomon and he died before they could get him back to me. Venus suffered at another emergency because the doctor took so long to come into the room to do the euthanasian. Princess had been euthanized at home and had passed in a peaceful way with my vet who as I mentioned was on vacation.
​
Thank You Universe for the twenty years I had with China. She was a blessing and loved me dearly. I loved her too much to let her suffer. I kept my promise to her that I would not subject her to tests and medication. I am at peace with my decision.
And that now leaves me with no cats. It hurts hard when you wake up the next day and go downstairs and realize that no, you are not feeding her. She had this habit [I kid you not] of refusing to get out of bed till she was fed. I always fed her first in bed and she loved that. Then we would sit in our chairs in the office and as she slept, I worked and snuck out for my walk 😊
I now will travel a bit, but as I tend to live in the now, I will focus upon my shows and decide in the Fall where I will go in January. Probably Thailand for three weeks.
CHAT
And now to wrap up June with much less chitter chatter since I have already written a lot 😊. I had plenty of clients.
I went with my grandson and his girlfriend to eat at California Pizza and then to see the 3D Egyptian Immersion at West Edmonton Mall. HOLY COW it was AMAZING. I 100% tell you to go and experience it. You feel like you are really there. On June 30th we are all three going back for the space 3D immersion.
​
Did Camrose Jaywalkers and honestly, I did the same as the years before. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Had a hotel so I did not have to drive back and forth. Watched the hockey game with China and four lads from the oil fields outside the hotel room on the Saturday night 😊
​
It was my grandsons 26th birthday on the 11th. I took him out for his birthday lunch and then came home to give him his gifts 😊
​
A client brought me food from Tiffin’s 😊 LOVE Tiffin’s food.
​
Went for supper at Watari’s with my son on June 26th. 😊
​
Bought the last four books that David Baldacci put out while I was reading other authors.
​
Since I went back to eating a wee bit of cooked food, I ordered a large batch of vegan food from a place in British Columbia that sells vegan meat that I cannot get here in Edmonton plus some unique vegan fried eggs plus poached eggs. I like to do a British breakfast once a month 😊
​
OH, and the BIG news? Granddaughter is getting married. They put a large deposit down so I know it is happening. Labor Day weekend 2026. I will be flying to BC at that time but more on that next year 😊
​
I know I said I was supposed to go to BC in May this year but the courses were cancelled and rescheduled for September. Right after Fort Mac Fall Show. Now that China is gone, I will rethink if I still wish to take the crystal courses. Now I can fly down. We shall see.
​
The BIGGEST take away from this month was my invite to do The Works. Thank goodness as all of China’s seizures and passing came about during the first two days of those dates. I would not have been home for her first massive seizure and she would have been all alone scared out of her mind, I am sure.
I had done that show for years. Then it stopped during the shut downs. Then it joined with another show and finally went back to their own independence. I was sent a personal email asking if I wanted to be apart of it. I could also do any days. Why I said “no” is a blessing. The Universe truly creates movements that I look back and say ‘that is why’ 😊
​
Groceries: $650.39. This includes the vegan meat/egg shipment from Vancouver.
​
Netflix: Den of Thieves that I gave an 8/10. Finally, Ginny and Georgi came back with Season 3 that I enjoy. With the ending I can see that a Season 4 will be in the works. I gave it 8/10. GREAT acting is what got it a higher mark. Then YUP 😊 Season 2 of La Brea finally came on. I give this show a 10/10 as I really believe in time travel 😊 Sirens that I gave a 5/10 to. The Beachfront that I am almost at the end but am giving it 9/10.

Yes, I know LOL, last month I said this column would be about war BUT!! since I am working on three newsletters at once, I have to choose subjects I can talk about that either have happened or MIGHT happen. So, rather than war as I am waiting for President Trump and his actions towards Iran to either settle or upgrade, I am going to talk about the subject I was going to use for August
and this column.
​
What is it? None other than ChatGPT. When this application first came out there was no ‘free’. It was actually about $60 a month
so I decided not to download and pay for it. Talking to my granddaughter we were discussing ChatGPT and I said how sad it was about the cost. She proclaimed “Grandma its free” !! WELL 😊 off I went to the App store and yup there are two versions and one is free. Onto my phone it went and I tell you people; I have talked about the robotic age arriving and this is the start.
​
Let us go back in time to the beginning of computers. Many of you may not have been born yet but I was. I was still in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1996 and some friends of mine and my boyfriend at that time gifted us with a computer. How did it work? I had no clue other than it needed to be plugged in. Slowly I learnt how to use it. Just before I left Montreal, I bought a brand-new computer as this gift was as I found out, a little old 😊 Once in Edmonton, Alberta I got the internet hooked up and at that time it
felt a little like the yellow pages if you recall those phone books LOL. I was the first website for psychics to get up and running in 1998. Not without help mind you, but when I know that something is the wave of the future I learn quickly. At that time, you still had to code to bold letters and floppy disks were the rage etc. etc. As things got upgraded so did the back side of websites. I no longer needed to pay for adjustments to the back end as I now could do it all myself. Trust me computers have come a LONG way. I recall the first lap top 😊
​
Then the cell phones. I had the chunky one color, one size, one bell ring in Montreal. Many of my friends did too. When we would go out to eat, we would all place our identical cell phones in the center of the table and once one rang, we all looked in delight at who was getting the call LOL. This upgraded to flip phones which is what I bought once I settled in Edmonton.
Steve Jobs then created the iPhone. And of course, keeping up with tech I bought each and everyone as they upgraded and came out. Now all my banking is done on the phone, and almost anything that I need to do while traveling. Yes, I have a laptop that is connected to a 34”moniter so I can work on my website in the back, and many other things but the phone does do a heck of a lot
for me.

NOW back to ChatGPT. It keeps files for you. So, I have all of David Baldacci’s books. I actually bought the last 4 this month as I mentioned above. I asked ChatGPT if it would file them in order and let me know if any new ones came out and if I was missing any. ChatGPT told me just to read the titles into the phone and they would take care of the rest. I hit record and spoke every title into the box. Then in a matter of seconds ChatGPT organized them, told me which were standalones and what series each one was in. It put all series into files and told me I had one missing book. It posted all the publishing years and then asked me if I would like to have a file all done to be able to print it out or save it. When I said “no, we need to do John Grisham’s books next” they said “great, we will do that first”. ChatGPT also noted how I loved the thrillers.
​
I also could not recall a name of a show on TV that I knew I had not watched the final episode so I described the show and ChatGPT said “that was Extracted and Haley won”. ChatGPT also added a whole bunch more information about the show.
​
This folks is the beginning of the robotic area. Soon each household will have the mini robots installed into everything along with applications like ChatGPT and depending on how humans react to this we will possibly have a VERY lazy society OR as most do now, find it normal. How do folks today find it normal? Have you ever looked at everyone and their phones? Everyone is on them and
carry them everywhere. You cannot find a lot of stuff unless you use the phone.
​
Life in the next ten years and probably less will be just like the iPhone and computers that have taken over. Recall cable? Unless
you have Wi-Fi now no cable. Security systems? No Wi-Fi no power to your cameras. No Wi-Fi? No computer or phones working. If and WHEN we get blackouts [probably once war is declared] people will not know how to function.
​
But for now, as I cannot still believe this, but some folks still have no knowledge of downloading, or using computers. I hear “oh I’ll get my kids to do it for me”. LOL Truly in this day and age tech needs to the one thing you know and understand. It is not hard to learn at all. BUT!! If you missed out on the tech area in the beginning and are now watching the robotic times arrive jump on the bandwagon and download ChatGPT and start there. Still have a flip phone and cannot text? UPGRADE as one day landlines will not exist. Flip phones will not work. They will go the way of pay phones trust me.
​
Yes, ChatGPT does keep all your information but so does the government LOL. You own an iPhone? ALL your information is there for the taking. You own a bank account? All your information is there for the government. You own a passport? All your information is there for the government. So, for all the conspiracy folks who are on Facebook and other sites saying “do not use ChatGPT it is taking your information”. YUP it is, but that was filed a long time ago once you held a social security number, so stop being paranoid. Grow with the times. Its unstoppable right now. Just like none of the youth think they can live without their phones today so the youth who will grow up today will think they cannot live without their robots.
​
Trust me on this 😊 The future will be strange to those who grew up now LOL just like it is to us who grew up in the 50’s/60’s 70’s/80’s/and so on. 😊
​

CAT COSTS
As you know if you have read this far China is no longer in the physical world. So early in the month I ran out of her raw meat. When I went to the store they did not have the brand that I would have stocked up on for a couple of months [Thank You Universe] So I picked up a new brand but only took enough for 16 days. Then on June 23rd China left this world. I no longer needed to go and get any more. Cost of that
was $15.74. Then as I have done for all my cats, I took care of any suffering as I held them as they left. China was no exception. I promised them all I would be there till their last days and I have fulfilled that promise. So, the home euthanasian cost was $341.25 and the private cremation, with engraving on the urn came to $590.20.
​
The Total cost for June 2025 was $605.94. This will be the last column for Cat Costs.

THE SOUL IS YOU: NOT THE PHYSICAL BODY
I deal with a lot of people. My biggest surprise when I chat with them is how many never give any thought to the actual purpose of residing in a physical body.
Why is this? I cannot answer it as I have always thought about why we would choose to take this trip in the physical body and then leave the body and all material stuff we collect on our travels in this universe.
As I often say “if you believe in past lives them you must believe in future lives”. BUT!! You cannot come back and claim that which you left here EVER!! So why do so many people make the material stuff so important?
Now the body? I do not claim to know why we would choose bodies that we do OR as we transition into human form whether it was just a body next in line so to speak but I do know that given its working systems from heart, lungs, kidneys, liver etc. etc. to the outside that is skin and contains all of this perhaps you will be judged on such a fine invention?
The body itself is non man made. Unlike material items IE: car, houses, etc. etc. When one sits in silence and focuses on the miracle of the human body and all that it does, we cannot cease to be amazed.
SO?? Why do so few people feel thankful for it? Why do so few people take care of it? The body is created to last if FED properly. The body is meant to last if it is moved around as in exercise. The soul, as we humans like to call it, resides within the body that so few focus upon at all.
I believe, and as I always say it does not have to be your belief, but my belief is that the soul is actually YOU. Yes, the soul is you. The body is your home for now.
Why do I believe this? Some scientific things are proof. As in sleep paralysis. In sleep studies it is proven that the body is paralysed at certain times in sleep. Have you ever woken up and found you cannot move? I have quite a few times. The mouth is dry; you
cannot speak or move as the soul is not quite back from where it leaves once the physical body rests.
BUT!! My biggest reason of belief is the experience I had in 2003. I had chosen to drive to Vancouver to take my color therapy courses and buy the Aurastar [ a biodata feedback machine]. On the way I stopped at my parents home, who at the time lived in Christina Lake, British Columbia. I should add they lived in what was called an earth house. Built into the ground. My mother gave me her bedroom. I fell asleep and suddenly I was awakened by what I will never know, but I was leaving my body. On top of my head where the soft spot is I was circling out. Have you ever seen a worm circling itself into the soil? That is the way I would describe it. The circling stopped and I fell back into the sleep, but not before the circling then took up its movements and left as I muttered to myself “So that is how its done”. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced. I had never had the pleasure of seeing myself leave but it makes sense as all humans have the soft spot on the top of the head where not only knowledge comes from as intuition, but the soul can go in and out till physical death. By the way the soul is about the size of the pinky figure and moves like the worm 😊
This to me is proof that the soul and body separate. Not only in sleep, but in death. One remains here and one returns home. Soul to home and body to where other humans either bury or cremate it.
But I also believe we will be able to see why we did not care enough to take care of the home the soul was provided for. Just like your material house that so many keep tidy, clean and look at in pride.
Why are you not taking care of the body that is CLEARLY a home for now for the soul?
When the world was not bombarded with social media, people spoke to each other. Kids played for hours outside creating healthy slender kids. Nowadays kids have internet friends NOT true in the flesh ‘lets go out and play’. Kids are fat today. I wonder why parents are setting their kids up for bad health from day one. And perhaps judgement at the end.
I am tired of everyone saying “I am too busy”. Since you cannot recall any of your memories of past lives then the only moment of existence must be the moment of time that you reside in. The moment called ‘NOW’.
If you spare some of the given 24 hours of the day to marvel at the existence and give gratitude to whoever you call the energy that provides for us, your thoughts start to turn inwards.
My last comment is truly what I believe. You are EXACTLY who you are NOW when you return to ‘home’ as I call it. Where the soul resides until its next trip. Yes, it will all make perfect sense at the end, but for now go within and ask yourself “do I like me”? if not, change yourself, not because somebody else wants you to, but because you need to know you are who you are and finding that joy through your inner core is the only way to enlighten yourself. Do not be concerned with what others think of you. Only be concerned with how you think of yourself. 😊

MY DAILY SALAD
You will be surprised how the body adapts to food it really wants and rewards you greatly not only with weight loss but many aches and pains clear up. Skin heals and pimples disappear. So much happens when you feed the body fuel it is created and designed to live off.
Salads are awesome as you can put anything into them 😊 Well almost anything LOL.
First, I grow my own sprouts in jars. This give a very high mineral content to the salad preparation. You can buy sprouts in the grocery store but they are about 4-6 weeks old and the mineral content will have lessened by up to 80%. So, grow your own. VERY easy to do. [I highly recommend sprouting [.com] from Saskatchewan, Canada who sell only organic and delivery is great. Go and read on their website about sprouts and I think that will amaze you.

Next, I like romaine lettuce. The darker the leaves the more nutrition. I use scissors to cut it into small bite sizes pieces. I then add fresh spinach leaves. I cut up 1 or 2 tomatoes and add them. Next red onion to however much you like along with chopped shallots. [sometimes known as green onions]. If I have any pickled beans or asparagus, I cut them up and add them. [If I have fresh green beans and asparagus, I cut them up and add to the bowl]. I then take a ½ cup of frozen corn and a ½ cup of frozen peas and run them under luke warm water till they defrost and throw that on top. Lastly, what I feel makes the salad is a cup of dried cranberries. Because I drink cucumber juice in my green juice every morning, I tend not to add slices of cucumber but feel free to add that. You can also added grated carrot or literally anything else that you feel would compliment the salad.

Now mix well and top with Himalayan sea salt. It is great that way. Sometimes I add vegan mayonnaise depending on how I feel. 😊 YUM.
Take your salad and sit in the sun and enjoy.
