And at Noon we called a Grab and drove to the airport. My flight was on time and Igor and Kirstens was delayed so I had the pleasure of sitting with them and then saying goodbye as I headed to my flight that was going to Bangkok and landing at the main airport.

Kirsten and Igor took a different flight and landed at the other airport as they were staying in Bangkok for another two days. The clouds of this first flight as I headed towards home.

I had already decided that instead of grabbing a hotel outside the airport and having to be back for 5 am YES 5 am!! I would rent a pod at the airport. Air Canada did not have a night flight going home at any time!!! Got my pod as you can see and then I explored the airport. ALL six floors of it. At 10 pm I crawled into my pod and honestly, I slept very nicely. Glad I got up at 5 am as it took quite awhile to find my way to my flight!! Asking people, finding the second floor of the opposite side of the airport. Jumping on the train to get to the Air Canada area. BUT :) unlike the delays coming here, ALL was on time going home. Made it to Vancouver and had an hour and half to make my last flight. Through immigration, through MANY long halls and at the plane they were boarding but I made it :) Son was at the airport to get me and I slept for a week I kid you not :) More on that in my March Newsletter on my website.

Why did I cut my vacation short? My original plan had been to decide where I wanted to go and stay for my last 10 days that I would be alone. I had originally booked a return flight home for February 3rd, 2025. But as I had stayed basically alone in Chiang Mai, I knew I did not like solos traveling. BUT!! there was something else bothering me inside. I was sad. It was a feeling 'I have all this beauty around me yet with an inner sadness'. Even when I was with Kirsten and Igor it never went away'. As soon as I stepped into the Edmonton airport back home it left me completely!!! I can only assume I had a past life there and as I believe, you can always feel energy that you leave behind here. As they say 'energy can never be destroyed, only reshaped and reprogrammed'.

TIPS IF YOU TRAVEL TO THAILAND:

a] Do not book any events or trips until you get there. Hotels all have a place in their lobby with travel people who book you. It is cheaper, and just like the elephant sanctuary 'Following Giants' in Krabi it is better to book directly so that all the money goes to the hard-working people of Thailand. Boats are plentiful on the beaches with a person there to take the money and get you on board safely.

b] Bottled water is everywhere. I did brush my teeth with tap water every day and I did not get sick. In fact, I never got sick, but I rarely get sick anyway. Bottled water is often free everywhere or 40 baht [ 16 cents]

c] Download Grab a taxi app once you land. They are cheap and quite efficient. BUT!! also think about what you are wanting to see in each city and compare your hotel rate to how many you may take. You may find that paying more for a better hotel offsets the costs of the many Grabs you will take. You will not want to drive in Thailand :)

d] Exchange your money at the airport in the lower area at Rich [it has that name in it] On the left side near the pod area. The exchange is better.

e] Suntan lotion is all over to buy and yes, some has a whitening lotion in it but most do not. Do not know why that rumor is on FB. to bring your own. You will need it I can assure you. The sun is HOT!! Particularly in the south.

f] I saw ONE mosquito. A few flies in the jungle. I was never bitten nor was Igor or Kirsten. Save the spraying your body with chemicals. That is a strong part of why people get sick. The skin is not made for chemical penetration.

h] Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai, has weather around 18 to 25 C with no humidity BUT the southern part is HOT!! Even at night is is still around 25C with humidity. Day time is up to 35C with high humidity. Heat does not bother me, so I was fine. However, if it bothers you stay north.

i] If you have any questions if you are going there feel free to ask me :)
