DAY TWELVE JANUARY 21st 2026. AO NANG, KRABI, THAILAND. [<click on the title to see the entire day]

A BIG day today. So as we waited till the pick up van to arrive we hung around the hotel. I took a spa foot massage.

AND!! not only was there the spa in the hotel but we also had one right across the street along with a place for oat milk coffee. We hit up that massage place twice :)

As we waited for our 1.30 pm pick up I headed up to the pool area on the top floor [8th] to joun Kirsten and Igor. Here is the view of the pool and Ao Nang.

And promptly at 1.30 pm we were picked up in an air-conditioned van and driven into the mountain to an ethical elephant sanctuary that I had booked for the three of us. Following Giants. It was also Igor and Kirstens anniversary date for their first meeting. I am so glad the day did not disappoint.

Enjoy the videos. We were taken through the sanctuary and told about the elephants and watched them in their natural habitat away from the torturous lives they had been forced to endure.

As we walked through the lovely jungle and admired the elephants. By the way I had yet to encounter any mosquitoes or bugs that so many people talk about. I was never bitten nor did I ever put the chemicalized bug spray on my body.

Here is the guide telling us about the two females, so you get a good idea of how the tour went. Also, that is a common bird sound you keep hearing. All over Krabi and I can never see the bird :)

Coming up to the place where we will make seedlings to throw back to the jungle and supper.

Prior to our buffet supper where they did prepare vegan for me, we made seed balls. These were sling shot back into the jungle to re-seed the ground for the elephants to eat.

And as I wrap up the elephant sanctuary with pics I think you can see its me LOL. And the elephants. What a GREAT day. Pretty sure we went to the vendor market and walked the boardwalk later on.
